While a CTP vehicle may qualify for new-vehicle incentives when sold at retail or leased, Michigan regulations require the vehicle to be titled to the dealership and sold as an used vehicle, and all documentation must reflect this status. Once the vehicle is titled to the dealership, it may not be sold as new or as a demo. The warranty start date begins when the vehicle is placed into CTP service.

- Battery health report The seller can pull one from the car; it's the only real degradation data, and nothing remote can measure it.
- Build date (door-jamb sticker) and original in-service date Settles mid-year running changes; the in-service date, not the model year, starts the warranty clock.
- Is FSD owned or subscribed, and does it survive this transfer? Car-to-car FSD transfers ended March 2026; wiped FSD means $99/month for the next owner.
